Walmart partners with the Samsung Recycling Direct(SM) program

Recycling old televisions, DVD players and other consumer electronics is now easier, thanks to a new partnership between Walmart and Samsung Electronics America. Through the Samsung Recycling DirectSM program, our customers can recycle Samsung consumer electronics, as well as those from our former private brands Durabrand and Ilo (no longer sold at Walmart), for free at numerous fixed drop-off locations in all 50 states (Other brands are recyclable for a nominal fee. )

This program is another step in our commitment to doing business in a sustainable way. We’re continuously working to introduce sustainable practices into all we do; likewise, we’re also making it more convenient for our customers to do the same in their own lives.

Moreover, we think it’s important to partner with responsible recyclers, such as those working with us and Samsung. Such partners aren’t allowed to incinerate, send to solid waste landfill, or export toxic waste (defined in a manner consistent with the commonly accepted definition of hazardous electronic waste) to developing countries. This way, we are truly building a better world for generations to come.
