Affordable Prescription Program Testimonials
We asked you how our prescription program has helped you save money, so you can live better. And we heard you. Read some of the responses below. We will be adding stories periodically, so keep checking back. It's on the list While everything else is going up in price, Wal-Mart bucked the trend, saw a need and found a way to help meet it. Their $4 prescription program has saved me hundreds of dollars since its inception. This program especially impacts older customers who are on Medicare; but even for those of us who still have insurance coverage, these prescriptions are less expensive than any co-pays that we've ever had. When this program was first introduced, I sat down with my physician with the list, and we found several of my prescriptions already on the list. She changed a few others to medicines that were on the list to help me save money. I can't thank Wal-Mart enough for seeing a need in our society and finding a way to meet it. Customer: Florida Family referral Back in the beginning of September '07, I found myself on unemployment and could not afford my medication. I was talking with my sister in South Carolina; I was stressing about how was I going to be able to afford my medication. I wouldn't even be able to afford the doctor visit. She said, "Have you tried Wal-Mart?" I had not, so she gave me the speech I always give her, "It won't kill you to try." Thank God I did! There were several of my medications on the $4 list. And when I got bronchitis and had to choose whether to go to the doctor or go to the emergency room and use charity care, I chose to talk to my doctor and we were able to work it out so that I received the proper antibiotics and other medications I needed that were on the $4 list. It was wonderful. Now that I am employed and have medical coverage, I still shop my $4 medications at Wal-Mart and encourage everyone I talk to, to check it out. I also use Equate products, too! They work just as well as the much more expensive medications for a fraction of the price. The Equate medication I use costs me less than $3 a box when the leading brand costs at least 2-3 times more and does the same job. It just doesn't pay not to fill your prescriptions at Wal-Mart. Customer: New Jersey Single mom Short, but sweet. You know it makes your day when you hear your daughter say three times in one day that Wal-Mart is awesome. It gives you a sense of pride. My daughter is a single mom and had to get a prescription filled for her 7-year-old daughter, Lindsey. She said she just stood there for a moment with disbelief, when the pharmacist cashier told her the cost would be only $4. She said she felt kind of silly because she asked the lady, “Are you sure?” Now that's what I'm talking about. Thank you, Wal-Mart. Customer: Arkansas Providing a great service Thank you Wal-Mart for doing for our great American Country – what our government, congress and legislators could not do. Even the Medicare program could not provide this service. I'm one of the more fortunate individuals with insurance coverage, but my costs are far greater than your published prices. At the end of this year, I will be on Medicare and have been very concerned and stressed —wondering how I will survive with the cost of my prescriptions. Wal-Mart has helped tremendously. This program is wonderful. Thanks, Wal-Mart, for doing so much for our communities and now our country as a whole. God bless. Customer: Georgia More things for my family Three month supply of prescription drugs — what a wonderful idea. Currently, I am taking seven prescription drugs on a monthly basis. I get all of these medications at Wal-Mart. I have become concerned with the cost of gasoline and having to make monthly trips to Wal-Mart to pick up my prescriptions (which never need refilling at the same time). Now I can get them for $10 and only have to pick them up every three months instead of various times during the same month. This will be friendlier to my pocketbook and will allow me to buy more things for my family at Wal-Mart. Customer: Iowa There’s no catch I recently saw an advertisement on TV about Wal-Mart’s $4 prescription drug program. I said to myself, “Yeah, there must be a catch … probably a deductible of some kind before you get the discount.” I took my new prescription to Wal-Mart and was shocked! I was only charged $4 for the prescription. The pharmacy personnel were the greatest. There was a bench to sit on while I waited, and my prescription was filled within an hour. What more could I ask for? Being that I am presently unemployed, I need to stretch every dollar as far as I can. Wal-Mart— you got my heart! Customer: New York $600 Savings My dad moved to Idaho from Alaska a few months ago. When he moved here, he was paying over $700 a month in prescriptions. I about hit the floor at this crazy price. So we went to a new doctor; we asked for generics in anything he could take for this type of meds. Then we went to Wal-Mart! What a supersavings that was. Now instead of buying for $700 a month, he is now paying a little under a hundred. Wow! Thank you, Wal-mart! You also have helped on my prescription bill, too! Thanks for all you do. Customer: Idaho Doctor prescribes Wal-Mart I, we, my husband and I, because we are a team, are grateful to Wal-Mart for the $4 prescription program in that it saved my husband's life. This year my husband and I were hit hard along with thousands of other Americans getting laid off from work. During this time, my husband got very sick. We had told the doctor that we had no insurance and then the doctor told us about the $4 prescription program at Wal-Mart. We were very surprised, to say the least, that in today's times, a company the size of Wal-Mart was taking an active role in caring about the cost of healthcare. I can truly say that I feel and know my husband would have put off buying the prescriptions he needed because we just did not have the money to buy it. Therefore, I can tell you that this $4 prescription program saved my husband's life. It also saved us money that we just did not have and has continued to save us money. With the world being so busy as it is, it gives great relief that we can count on the $4 prescription program every month to come. Thank you so much, Wal-Mart, for being an active leader in helping to keep the cost of healthcare down! Customer: North Carolina Blew my mind I just want to say, “Thank you, thank you, Thank you so much for your $4 prescription program; it's a life saver.” I take three medications every month, and this is a great help even with my insurance. I just recently found out that I need a particular medication that runs around $468, but Wal-Mart has the generic available AND on their $4 program, which just blew my mind. First, that a medication would even cost that much, and second, that someone can offer it on their $4 program. Customer: Texas
