Contacting the Global Ethics Office

The Global Ethics Office serves as a guide and resource for ethical decision making based on the Wal-Mart Statement of Ethics. The office also provides associates with a confidential reporting system to raise ethics concerns by calling the Global Ethics Helpline. Customers, suppliers and supplier factory workers may also call the helpline by using a local phone number in more than 40 countries. Although Wal-Mart does not own, operate or manage any factories, the Global Ethics Office manages a formal process to immediately investigate any concern voiced by a factory employee and take corrective action through the Wal-Mart Ethical Standards Program.

International Dialing Instructions

After you select a country in the above drop-down menu, the text below will appear if a direct access code is required. How to call using Direct Access Codes:

  1. Make sure that the phone you are calling from can dial international numbers. Many companies restrict international dialing from employees’ phones or require a specific access code to reach a line for making international calls.
  2. Dial the direct access code only. Do not dial any other numbers.
  3. When you reach an international operator, it will either be a live person or a recording. In either instance, you do not have to speak. You may dial the toll-free number to reach the Global Ethics Helpline. If a “1” is not listed before the area code, it is not required to make the call.
